General Fitness & Strength Coaching
Building Strength Without Punishment or Pressure
Strength training has changed the way I move and think. It’s given me confidence, stability, resilience and a relationship with my body that isn’t rooted in punishment or control, driven my cardio and calories burning. For a long time, the gym felt intimidating and overwhelming, too loud, too bright, too busy. I didn’t feel like I belonged there, and I didn’t really understand what I was doing.
But once I learned how to train properly, with intention and compassion, everything shifted. Strength training taught me how capable my body actually is. It made me a better athlete, a healthier human, and most importantly now able to carry my shopping up the stairs in one go.
I coach because I know how transformative the gym can be when you have support, clarity and someone who believes in you. As a fitness coach and strength coach, I help people build confidence, strength and consistency without the pressure, shame or intensity that the fitness industry often pushes.
If you want to feel stronger, move better, and build a sustainable relationship with training, I’d love to support you.
Why Strength Coaching Matters
Most people go into the gym and hope for the best. They try random workouts, copy what others are doing, or follow plans they find on social media that aren’t built for their body, goals or lifestyle. Eventually they feel stuck, bored, injured or unmotivated and assume something is wrong with them.
Nothing is wrong with you. You just need structure, clarity and a plan that makes sense for your needs.
Strength training is one of the most powerful things you can do for your physical and emotional wellbeing. It supports bone density, joint health, longevity, metabolic health, mental clarity and overall resilience. But for many people, especially women and neurodivergent people, the gym can feel overwhelming, confusing or intimidating.
As an online fitness coach, my job is to simplify the process, remove the guesswork and help you build skills that last for life.
Rethinking How We Think About the Gym
The gym isn’t a place you “earn” or “deserve” to be in.
It’s not a punishment, a fix, or a way to control your body.
I want to help people see the gym differently:
as a place where you learn
a place where you build strength slowly and safely
a place where progress doesn’t look like self-criticism but consistency
a place where your body is something to support, not fight against
Strength training isn’t about chasing extremes, it’s about giving your body what it needs to function well, feel grounded, and meet life with more ease.
My Approach as a Strength & Fitness Coach
My coaching combines structure with compassion, lived experience with professional knowledge, and athletic training with emotional awareness.
Here’s how I work:
A personalised strength programme
You’ll receive a plan that fits your experience, your goals and your schedule - Done through an app called trainingpeaks but this is not a copy and paste job, each workout is created for you. Whether you’re a beginner or returning to the gym after time away, you’ll get a clear, manageable structure designed to build confidence and skill.
Technique-focused training
I want you to actually understand what you’re doing. Good form is empowering. It makes you safer, stronger and more consistent. I offer technique feedback, video reviews and simple cues that finally make exercises make sense.
Neurodivergent-aware, sensory-aware coaching
As someone with AuDHD, I understand the realities:
overwhelm in busy gyms
executive function challenges
fluctuating energy
perfectionism or fear of “doing it wrong”
black-and-white thinking
sensory discomfort
I coach in a way that is adaptable, flexible and shame-free.
Strength + conditioning options
Whether you want to get stronger, improve fitness, build muscle or support your running, we can include conditioning work that complements your goals.
Emotional support + confidence building
My counselling background means I understand how much mindset influences training. We work on:
gym anxiety
comparison
body image
self-trust
motivation
pacing
building sustainable habits
Sustainable progress
No crash plans.
No intensity for the sake of it.
Just steady, realistic, supportive training that fits your life.
My Own Strength Journey
My relationship with the gym hasn’t always been positive. For years, I associated it with “fixing myself,” shrinking, control, or chasing numbers that didn’t actually mean anything to me.
Strength training became meaningful when I stopped using it to change my body and started using it to support my life, my running, my wellbeing, my mental health, my stability, my sense of self.
A few key moments from my journey:
Discovering the gym as a safe space
Once I learned proper technique, the gym stopped feeling intimidating and started feeling grounding.Realising strength training made me a better runner
Lifting made me more resilient, more efficient and more balanced, physically and emotionally.Finding a healthier relationship with my body
Strength training taught me to appreciate capability over appearance.Learning from injury and burnout
I’ve made mistakes, trained too fast, pushed too hard and learned the importance of sustainable pacing.Understanding the ND experience
Through my diagnosis, I began understanding why the gym felt overwhelming and how to create strategies that actually work for ND minds.
Now, I teach people the same skills that changed my life.

Why Train With Me
My coaching blends lived experience, professional training, and years of supporting people to feel stronger, more confident and more connected to their bodies. I’ve worked in the fitness industry since 2017, and everything I’ve learned, through both my own journey and my professional training, shapes the way I coach today.
Training and background
I’ve built my coaching foundation over nearly a decade, completing a wide range of qualifications that help me support clients safely, effectively and with depth:
2016 – Group Exercise to Music Qualification
Where I first learned how to guide movement, energy and rhythm in a way that helps people feel motivated and confident.2019 – Level 2 & Level 3 Personal Training
The core qualifications that grounded me in technique, programme design and client support.Les Mills Accredited Instructor over several years in:
Body Balance
Body Combat
Body Attack
Body Pump
GRIT
These taught me how to deliver accessible, high-energy sessions across different styles, fitness levels and motivational needs but mainly the variety in peoples’ needs and communication.
Group Cycle Instructor
Building confidence in coaching endurance, power and pacing in a group environment.Leadership in Running Fitness (2025)
Linking my strength training expertise with running coaching to create well-rounded, balanced programmes for all fitness levels.
These qualifications mean you’re working with someone who understands safe movement, progressive strength training, group facilitation, endurance principles and the emotional landscape of exercise.
What Makes My Coaching Different
Beyond qualifications, my coaching is shaped by who I am - both as an athlete and a counsellor.
I coach from lived experience, not perfection. I know what it’s like to feel intimidated by the gym, disconnected from your body, or unsure where to start.
I’m neurodivergent-aware, and build plans that support fluctuating energy, sensory needs, shame-free progress and accessible routines.
I bring my counselling background into coaching, which means I support the emotional side of training - motivation, self-esteem, confidence, body image, pacing and pressure.
I value sustainable progress over extremes. No punishment, no “all or nothing,” no unrealistic expectations, aiming for consistency.
I coach the whole person, not just the workout. Your wellbeing, lifestyle, capacity and identity all matter. I coach to fit your lifestyle, I don’t expect you to change your entire life.
I care deeply about the clients I work with. I care about their stories, fears, strengths, goals and the relationship they build with themselves through movement. When we work together, you’re not just following a plan - you’re supported in a way that honours your full humanity.
A Combined Approach: Coaching + Counselling
For some people, strength training isn’t just about building muscle or learning technique, it’s about rebuilding confidence, healing your relationship with movement, or navigating the emotional barriers that can show up when you try to create change.
Because I’m trained and accredited as both a counsellor and a fitness coach, I’m able to offer a combined pathway where we work on both the physical and emotional sides of training.
This option can be helpful if:
you want support with motivation or consistency
you struggle with all-or-nothing thinking
gym anxiety or fear of judgement is holding you back
body image, comparison or shame show up around movement
you have a history of unhealthy or punishing exercise habits
you’re navigating stress, burnout or emotional overwhelm
you benefit from having one person hold both sides of the process
The reality is: training doesn’t happen in isolation.
Your nervous system, your stress levels, your identity, your beliefs about yourself. All of these influence how you move, how you rest, and how you show up.
How the Combined Option Works
You can choose:
Coaching + weekly counselling sessions, or
Coaching + monthly counselling sessions.
Coaching sessions focus on:
training structure
technique
strength progression
consistency
body confidence
building sustainable habits
Counselling sessions offer space to explore:
the emotional patterns around exercise
fear, shame, comparison or overwhelm
perfectionism and self-criticism
motivation struggles
identity, transitions or stress
how you relate to your body
This pathway is always led by you, gentle, flexible, supportive and grounded.
It isn’t about “fixing” anything; it’s about creating a relationship with training that feels safe, empowering and sustainable.
If you’re unsure whether coaching, counselling, or both would support you best, we can talk through it and find what feels right.
